Rhino-Rack 2500 Heavy Duty Roof Rack Installation

Rhino-Rack’s 2500 Heavy Duty system is a popular choice for Calgary drivers who need a strong, no-nonsense roof rack for work or utility use. Designed for vehicles with a bare roof, this clamp-style system offers excellent load capacity and durability when installed correctly using precise measurements and vehicle-specific hardware.
For this installation, our Roof Racks Calgary team set up a Rhino-Rack 2500 Heavy Duty bar system using 59" HD bars, 2500 series legs, and a vehicle-specific DK fit kit. While this system takes longer to install than many modern clamp-style racks, proper setup is critical for safety, load security, and long-term performance.

Precision Clamp-Style Fitment with Rhino-Rack 2500
Unlike many newer rack systems, Rhino-Rack Heavy Duty bars do not include a printed measurement scale on the bar itself. This means bar placement must be carefully measured, adjusted, and verified directly on the vehicle before final assembly.
During this installation, the bars were positioned on the roof and measured side-to-side to ensure they were perfectly centered and evenly spaced. Once the correct measurements were confirmed, the bars were removed so the lower channel rubber strip could be cut and installed precisely to match the finalized foot pack positions.

What We Installed
- Rhino-Rack Heavy Duty Bars – 59" (Black)
- Rhino-Rack 2500 Leg Kit (4 Pack)
- Rhino-Rack 2500 Fit Kit – DK427
Why This Rack Setup Works for Calgary Drivers
- Heavy-duty steel bar design ideal for work and utility use
- Clamp-style fitment for vehicles without factory rails
- Excellent load capacity when measured and installed correctly
- Compatible with Rhino-Rack work and utility accessories
Important Installation Notes: Measurement Matters
This Rhino-Rack setup took longer than most clamp-style installations due to the lack of pre-marked measurement guides on the bars. Accurate measurement was essential before cutting and installing the lower channel rubber strip, as this strip can only be installed once the final foot pack position is confirmed.
Improper measurement at this stage can compromise fitment and security, which is why this system benefits from professional installation—especially when carrying heavier loads.

Professional Installation by Our Calgary Team

- Measured and equalized bar positioning directly on the vehicle
